Our Story

More than leather. A legacy in your hands.

Tannore was born from a simple belief — that the things we carry every day should be made to endure, to age, and to mean something. We craft leather wallets that begin as beautiful objects and become deeply personal ones.

Started with a single hide and a conviction

Tannore began in a small workshop with one question: why does everything we carry feel so disposable? Wallets that crack in six months. Leather that peels. Stitching that splits before its time. We decided to build differently.

We sourced full-grain hides — the strongest, most characterful part of the animal — and paired them with construction techniques borrowed from traditional saddlery. Every edge burnished by hand. Every stitch waxed for longevity. Every closure chosen for feel as much as function.

"We don't want to make wallets you replace. We want to make wallets you pass on." — The Tannore Founders

Today, Tannore offers five distinct collections — each exploring a different face of leather. From the glossy drama of croco-embossed grain to the raw, scarred beauty of pull-up wax hide. There is a Tannore for every hand, every pocket, every story.

What We Stand For

Honest Materials

We use only genuine leather — full-grain, top-grain, and wax-finished hides — sourced from tanneries that treat both hide and environment with care. No bonded leather. No shortcuts. What you feel is what it is.

Built to Last

Construction is our obsession. Waxed linen thread, hand-burnished edges, and reinforced corners are not luxuries — they are the minimum standard we hold ourselves to. A Tannore wallet is designed to outlive its owner's expectations.

Aged Beauty

Our leathers are chosen precisely because they reward use. Pull-up and wax finishes develop a patina unique to the owner — no two Tannore wallets age the same way. The longer you carry it, the better it looks.

Made for People

Every interior layout is designed around real carry habits. Card slots at the right angle. Note sections that lie flat. Closures that open with one hand. Thoughtful, always — because the inside of a wallet matters as much as the outside.

The Leathers

Every collection at Tannore begins with the choice of hide. We work with five distinct leather types — each with its own character, its own way of ageing, its own story to tell.

Croco-Embossed Leather

High-gloss embossed grain with a dramatic reptile pattern. Bold, structured, and eye-catching — a statement piece for any pocket. The emboss is deep and consistent, holding its definition even after years of daily use.

Pebble Grain Leather

Soft, textured, and quietly refined. Pebble grain leather is forgiving to the touch, resists everyday scuffs with ease, and carries a subtle visual depth that plain smooth leather simply cannot match.

Pull-Up Leather

Oil-saturated full-grain hide that lightens dramatically at creases and deepens with wear. The most personal leather we make — entirely unique to each owner. No two pull-up wallets look the same after six months of carry.

Smooth Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Clean, minimal, and quietly elegant. Vegetable-tanned smooth leather develops a rich polish over time without the drama of pull-up finishes. Ideal for those who prefer their leather to speak softly.

Distressed Wax Leather

Heavily waxed and hand-distressed — arrives already wearing the marks of a life lived. Scratches, creases, and colour variation are features, not flaws. The most character-rich hide in our entire lineup.

How We Build

Every Tannore wallet passes through five stages before it reaches your hands. Each one is a checkpoint — and nothing moves forward until it's right.

  1. Hide Selection

Each hide is hand-selected for grain consistency, thickness, and character. We reject anything that doesn't meet our tactile standard — no matter how much of the hide it wastes.

  2. Cutting

Panels are cut to precise tolerances — no laser cutting, no mass punching. Clean knife edges that align perfectly at every seam and fold without creasing.

  3. Stitching

Waxed linen thread is hand-stitched using a saddle technique — so that if one stitch breaks, the rest holds. It is slower than machine stitching. It is also significantly stronger.

  4. Edge Work

All edges are hand-burnished, painted, or folded to a smooth, sealed finish. The edge is where cheap leather goods give themselves away — and where Tannore sets its standard.

  5. Final Inspection

Every wallet is opened, flexed, and examined by hand before leaving our atelier. Closures are tested. Stitching is checked under light. If it doesn't pass the hand test, it doesn't leave.

A Word From Us

Every member of the Tannore team carries a wallet every single day. We felt firsthand the disappointment of beautiful leather that cracked at the fold after a year. Stitching that gave out at the corner. Hardware that tarnished in a season.

So we went to the source — tanneries, saddlers, master leatherworkers — and asked a simple question: how do you build something that lasts twenty years? The answers became Tannore.

We are not a fast-fashion accessories brand. We are a craft house that happens to make wallets. And we intend to keep it that way.
